This year’s ASCA Conference was a huge success, with HST focusing on Connecting the Future for ASCs. HST Pathways had the valuable opportunity to meet in person with the ASC industry during a time that is so pivotal in our nation’s healthcare landscape, including the recent expansion of ASCs across the United States.

Connecting the Future for ASCs remains a critical focus for HST and one that was demonstrated throughout our time at ASCA. As HST continues to lead the market in developing new ASC experiences and access to cutting-edge technology, we remain closely aligned with the philosophy of streamlining and enhancing our customer experience through a ‘single pane of glass.’

Introduction of HST Home

During ASCA, HST announced and showcased HST Home as our new ASC platform aimed at further supporting ASCs through a ‘single pane of glass.’ HST Home gives surgery centers a single view to easily access all HST products, track the center’s health, analyze center data, and increase staff productivity, making it easier to support superior patient experiences. HST Home offers:

  • Customizable dashboards and analytics provide insight into overall facility health.
  • Single sign-on access and connected user experience for all HST products.
  • Quick actions to help center staff quickly get to where they need.
  • Integration marketplace connecting center management with key technology.

Keynote Speaker, Captain Tammie Jo Shults, gave an incredibly inspiring speech.

ASCA keynote speaker Captain Tammie Jo Shults, introduced by HST CEO, David Thawley, reminded ASCA attendees to “dream without fences” and “make a habit of giving hope to other people.” Her presentation was incredibly moving, drawing parallels between her experiences as a captain and those within an ASC. Both require unwavering courage and tenacity to maintain a level head while caring for the lives of others. We are so grateful she shared her story with us at ASCA.

Women Leaders – Transcending the Culture Norms in Healthcare

HST’s Chief Customer Officer, Tara Vail, moderated the general session “Women Leaders – Transcending the Culture Norms in Healthcare,” focusing on women in leadership positions in the ASC industry. With notable panelists from across the industry, women shared their guidance and insights, including “coming from a place of yes,” “matching your subspeciality with your lifestyle,” “acting with integrity,” and “being curious and courageous” as key takeaways. This in-depth discussion hit home with many attendees as the panel shared experiences that aren’t usually discussed, making women feel heard and understood while offering advice and wisdom as to how we can work together to overcome adversity and shared problems.

Using Technology to Improve the Patient Experience

HST’s Senior VP of Sales, Robert Marinich, spoke about “Using Technology to Improve the Patient Experience,” focusing on how technology has changed and improved the patient experience. The discussion highlighted points on how technology will improve day-to-day processes, enable improved care, keep employees happy, and increase revenue.
